Pip Danrell –
Founder - Corporate Mums
Pip Danrell is the
founder of Corporate Mums and in March 2010 successfully launched her own range
of professional and stylish organisers and planners designed specifically to bring
order and calm to the lives of busy and working parents.
The Corporate Mums range includes 6 original designs and is brand new to
the Australian market. Pip’s dream was
to design a quality range of organisers that appealed to parents of children
aged between 0 – 16yr for everyday use, and for customers seeking a stylish
quality gift to give a loved one for occasions such as Mum’s returning to work,
baby showers, birthdays and Christmas.
With a clear focus on planning and organising, Pip’s innovative range of
support tools have also helped hundreds of mum’s transition back into the
workforce after having children, by enabling them to prioritise work and family
commitments and control their valuable time.
Prior to establishing Corporate Mums Pip enjoyed a successful career in
Human Resources, recruitment and coaching, preceded by 9 years in Hotel
Management within the corporate sector.
Pip graduated in Hotel Management and Tourism, and has further
qualifications in Human Resources, a Certificate in Management and Cert IV in

How Corporate Mums began….
When Pip Danrell decided to
start her family over 7 years ago, she knew that finding a balance between
returning to part-time paid work and spending quality time raising her children
would be a challenge. After Pip’s 3rd
child arrived and with school hours to negotiate, the pendulum finally swung
towards Pip being a stay-at-home-mum. However,
the itch to continue working Part-time vs. the importance of “being there” for
her 3 children (with no local family support and a husband who travelled
frequently with work) led Pip to one conclusion. The need to establish her own home based
business which had the flexibility to meet both her family needs and satisfy
her desire to continue working and utilising her business skills.
During those early years of
juggling work, children routines and taking on committee and parent
representative roles with her children’s kindergarten and school, it became
obvious to Pip just how important it was to organise, prioritise and plan for
the days and weeks ahead. And having
professional tools and notes and her fingertips to feel like she was ‘in
control’ even on the mornings when she wasn’t, was important for her
wellbeing.
So, after struggling to
find parenting support tools that supported her busy life and those of her work
colleagues and friends, Pip decided to design her own range. It took just over 12 months to design, market
test and tailor the products for today’s busy mums.
In November 2009, Pip was
accepted into The Body Shop’s training initiative Bizness Babes which provides invaluable support
and training resources for women and mums wishing to start their own small
business. And in March 2010, at her graduation, Pip officially launched the
Corporate Mums brand online.
Since March, Pip has been
invited to speak on occasion, and is also a Professional Support Adviser
offering organisational and planning tips on the Family Capers forum.
Available in a growing
number of specialist retail outlets including Mama’s Home in Windsor, and
Riverbend Books in Bulimba and with product available online, Corporate Mums is
being recognised as an innovative quality brand.
As a busy mother of 3 young
children, (a Sheltie named Flash!), loving wife, involved kindergarten and
school parent, social networker and business entrepreneur, Pip leads a well
balanced and happy life.
